Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a validation system, that is designed to prevent the so-called email spoofing where an email message can be sent from one e-mail, but to appear as being sent from a different, generally with the purpose to scam the recipient for some reason. If SPF protection is enabled for a domain, a special record is generated for it in the Domain Name System and all the DNS servers around the world receive it. The record features all of the mail servers that are permitted to send authentic messages from an address part of the domain. When an email is sent, the very first DNS server it encounters verifies the SPF record and if its sending server is authorized, the message is sent to the target receiver. When, however, the sending server is not included in the SPF record for the given domain, the e-mail message will not be sent and it will be removed. If you employ this solution, it will stop third parties from sending spam messages that appear to have been sent from you.

SPF Protection in Cloud Web Hosting

When you host your domain names in a cloud web hosting account on our end and we handle the emails for them, you'll be able to activate SPF protection for all of them with a couple of clicks inside your Hepsia Control Panel. The service is accessible in a section of its own where you're able to see which domains are already protected. For the ones that are not, you will be able to activate the SPF protection option and manage a lot of things during the process - the hostnames of the mail servers that are permitted to send messages from your e-mails, the IPv4 and IPv6 addresses of the servers, and to create a rule that emails can be sent only if your domain names use our MX records. The aforementioned choice is the most secure one, but it can be used in the event that we manage the e-mails for your domains and do not use a different e-mail service provider. The newly generated records will be activated within one day and nobody will be able to forge the FROM field in an e-mail with your e-mail addresses.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The SPF protection attribute is available with all Linux semi-dedicated hosting services, so when you host your domain names in an account on our cloud web hosting platform, you're able to activate this service easily for any of your domains. The Hepsia Control Panel, which is included with the semi-dedicated accounts, offers a really easy to work with interface, which means that you do not need to be tech-savvy to protected your e-mail addresses. You'll simply have to type the hostname and the IP address of each mail server that you'd like to be authorized to send out e-mails from your addresses and right after that the updated record will be activated for the domain name that you've chosen. As an extra option, we'll also allow you to restrict the outgoing emails and secure your mailboxes even better by permitting email messages to be sent only if the domain name involved contains our MX records i.e. the e-mail messages for the domain should be managed by us and not by some other provider. By doing this you'll get even better control and there won't be a chance for any person to counterfeit your email addresses for harmful uses.
